You’re going to spend a lot of time with your custom RV seating, so you need to love it. That’s where we come in! Today, we’re breaking down every aspect of custom furniture design. And if you still need help, Bradd and Hall is here to give recommendations and suggestions.

Which Type of RV Seating?

Recliner

RV recliners are similar to or are the same as traditional recliners in a stationary home. We have some recliners that have built-in bases that can be locked in place in your motorhome, and we have some recliners that can simply be placed in your RV. The one thing they all have in common? The ability to recline back so you can relax and put your feet up.

Theater Seating

Theater seating is a popular form of RV furniture. They’re made of two or three recliners hooked together with a console in the middle. These consoles that connect the reclining seats are normally for storage, phone charging, or holding drinks.

Sofa

The last common form of RV seating is a sofa or loveseat. A loveseat, of course, refers to just two recliners connected with no console. Meanwhile, a sofa is normally larger. At Bradd and Hall, we have both reclining and standard sofas. You can choose a sleeper sofa that converts to a bed or a reclining sofa that leans back.

How to Measure for Your Custom RV Seating

Now that you’ve got the basic lingo down, you’ll need to measure the space you have for custom RV seating. All of our furniture listings include dimensions so that you can get an idea of how much space the seat or table will take up. Additionally, most of our RV furniture designs have two or more size options to choose from. This way, you can select a smaller recliner or shorter computer desk if you have limited space in your motorhome.

We have helpful measuring guides available online. You can review our guides to understand what each dimension refers to when you choose your RV furniture. If you still have questions, you can always give us a call! Or you can bring your motorhome by our showroom so the pros can measure and install your new custom RV seating for you.

Design Your Custom RV Seating

It’s time to design your custom RV seating! The two main choices you’ll face here are the material and the color. It’s best to choose the material first, and then the color. Once you decide Ultraleather/vinyl or polyester-based fabric, you’ll be able to choose the color options from there.

Material

The first material choice when it comes to RV seating design is Ultraleather/vinyl or fabric. Ultraleather is our main go-to recommendation for RV furniture. It’s a soft, durable polyurethane that comes with a three-year warranty from Bradd and Hall! We’ve seen Ultraleather last over twenty years without peeling or flaking. If you’re after a more affordable option, you can check out our Premium Vinyl. This durable, marine-grade vinyl material has a timeless look and comes with a two-year Bradd and Hall warranty.

If leathers aren’t your style, we have plenty of traditional furniture fabrics to choose from. We offer custom RV seating in standard fabrics, premium fabrics, Ultrafabrics, and Lambright fabrics. These are normally polyester or polyester blends and come in plain, textured, and patterned options.

Color

Once you’ve chosen your material, it’s time to take a look at the color choices. We carry patterned fabrics and bold colors for those after a statement furniture piece. And, of course, we have a wide variety of beige, tan, gray and cream-colored variations that promise a timeless look.

You can view all of our colors and fabrics online to get started. However, once you’ve narrowed your choices down to 12 or less, we highly recommend requesting samples.

Your computer, tablet or phone’s settings can make the colors look different on the screen than they do in person. And since your new furniture is going to be around a while, you’ll want to be completely confident in your choice.

Contact Bradd and Hall to request sample swatches for your custom RV seating. We’ll be happy to ship the swatches to your doorstep so that you know exactly what you’re ordering. And, of course, we’re always happy to have customers visit our showroom in Elkhart, Indiana, where you can see our furniture and fabrics in person. You can even sit in our show recliners and sofas before you make your purchase.

These are just the basics when it comes to designing and customizing RV furniture. When you’re ready to make your design reality, or if you need help from the design experts, Bradd and Hall is here to help. We’ve been building custom RV seating for decades so we know how to help you make the right decision. You can call, contact us online, or bring your motorhome to our Indiana showroom to get our advice on the best design choices!
